PARENTS'-TEACHERS' MEETING - 2022
Today, the last Parent-Teacher meeting for the Academic Session 2022-23 was held in the School Auditorium where hundreds of Parents, Guardians had given their presence. The said meeting had a formal beginning with the welcome to SMC Chairperson Shri S. J. Lepcha as ‘Sabha Shiromani’ along with the Parents and the Guardians.
School Headmaster Shri Bhuwan Chettri began his address by welcoming the gatherings and detailed the house about the implementation, method of teaching and the systematic process of NIPUN Bharat (NIPUN stands for National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding and Numeracy), a National initiative launched by Ministry of Education, Govt. of India, to ensure that every child in the country necessarily attains foundational literacy and numeracy by the end of Grade 3 by 2026-27. He urged the house that every stakeholders like Teachers, Parents, SMCs to be very active and responsible in achieving the common goal as per the RTE Act 2009. Furthermore, he highlighted the gathering about School’s achievements, performances in various state and district level competitions etc. He also sought the suggestions from the parents regarding the introduction of new uniform of the school from next academic session.
Miss Anjana Rai, a teaching staff member presented a brief report along with powerpoint presentation on teaching methods practiced by the primary teachers in the classes like Jolly Phonics, pictorial method integrated with ICT, action songs, etc.
An active SMC member Shri Suren Pradhan, proprietor, Suren’s Kitchen, Bhanjyang Road, was felicitated with appreciation letter by the school for showing his generosity towards school as he had sponsored 20 kg chicken meat and Rs. 1500/- and provided mid day meal to our students on 12th September 2022.
Mrs. Sumit Dahal, Special Educator (CWSN) informed the gathering about the medical health clinic held in the School recently. As some of the students were found with unsound health, she asked parents to take their wards to the hospital OPD for further treatment on scheduled date mentioned by the hospital. She also requested parents to report her if any disabled child left unattended as such children will also get admissions in the school like other normal students.
In the feedback session, Shri Laxmi Prasad Poudyal, a concerned guardian shared his experiences as he came across a student who could not figure out a number (price of a vegetable) in nepali while bargaining with a vendor in the market. This sort of problems is to be resolved in the school only and students should be dealt minutely, he suggested. Shri Suren Pradhan, praised the practice of smart class in the school and encouraged the school family to give their best. Even in the developed country like USA, more number of the students are found studying in government schools than in private schools because of the infrastructures, trained teachers and various facilities provided by the government. We must learn from them, he added.
Shri B. K. Verma, a Faculty Member had prepared a Video Presentation on the achievements made by the School family which was showcased to the parents.
SMC Chairperson, Shri S. J. Lepcha addressed the house and asked the parents to help and support the School family in every possible manner. He reiterated the house about the school’s performances and developments in the academic and co-scholastic areas. Further he said, we are very proud that our school has the most experienced and trained teaching faculty members and the support staffs as of now. He also informed the gathering about SMC’s constant touch with the department to provide all departmental help as we are trying out our level best to make our school a model school in the town. The State Government is also sponsoring the students who are economically backward but talented and brilliant students who wish to go for higher studies. Let us not lose hope. In the end, he placed a resolution in front of the house about the introduction of new uniform of the school along with muffler and school bag bearing school logo. Most of the parents raised their hand in favour of the resolution. Later it was decided that the school will begin the process of introduction of new uniform only after gathering hundred percent assurances from the parents. School administration will be in touch with the parent regarding this matter.
The parents were asked to meet Class Teachers and the Subject Teachers before leaving the school premises.
The three hour long meeting was concluded after the propose of the vote of thanks.
