INAUGURATION CEREMONY OF KID'S CASTLE PRESCHOOL



 

On 6th April 2023, Govt. New Sec. School hosted two of its prime activities in its premises. The first one was the inauguration of Kid's Castle Preschool (a unit of Govt New Sec. School) in its newly constructed school building. The concept behind setting up of Kid's Castle Preschool is to achieve the goal set by NIPUN BHARAT, a nationwide mission launched by Ministry of Education, Govt. Of India in 2021. Altogether 53 students are studying in Preschool from Nursery to class II. The second one was the signatory event of the school i.e, Investiture ceremony of School Prefects-2023.
The Hon'ble Chairperson, Namchi Municipal Council Mr. Ganesh Rai was present as Chief Guest. Shri G. P. Sharma, Joint Director, Education Department, Namchi and Shri Tashi Dorji Tamang, Hon'ble Chairperson, Building and Housing Board, Govt. Of Sikkim were present as Guest of Honour. SMC Chairperson Shri S. J. Lepcha alongwith SMC Vice Chairperson Mrs. Selena Rai, Hon'ble Councillors Mr. Pem Norbu Bhutia and Mrs Mamta Kalikotey, Mr. Bikash Pradhan, Govt. Contractor were also present as special guests in the event. Feeder Schools were also invited and the representatives alongwith class VIII students were present and witnessed the event.
The Chief Guest inaugurated new school building and visited Kid's Castle Preschool class wise where the teachers and the students demonstrated their classroom activities. After this, the dignitaries proceed to the Auditorium for the main event. The students entertained the present guests and Parents with Choir Song and dance. The nominated Prefects took the oath of responsibility. Headmaster Mr. Bhuwan Chettri administered the oath ceremony. The Chief Guest and other dignitaries pinned up the badges and sashes. 29 students in total became the part of Student's Council for the academic session 2023-24. .
The School Code of Conduct (Rule Book) and the School Activity Calendar were also released on the day.
In his motivational speech, Mr Ganesh Rai praised the initiatives of new school uniform and the concept of Preschool. He further assured to provide school uniform to 10 students who belong to BPL families every year. He asserted that he will extend all possible help for further development of the school.
Mr. Yashwant Subba, General Manager,.STCS, Mr. Birbal Subba, Senior Language Teacher, Mr. I. P. Sapkota, GT Maths Mrs. Tshering Doma Bhutia, senior Primary Teacher and Shri Tashi Dorji Tamang, Hon'ble Chairperson were felicitated with school momentos for their philanthropic gesture and support towards school. School souvenir were given away to all the present guests teachers of feeder schools.

TWINNING of SCHOOL Programme-2023

  TWINNING of SCHOOL Programme-2023 Day 5 Activity 28. 04. 2023 (Friday) It was a concluding day for the students of both schools. An interesting activity was conducted on the final day. The activity was based on the topic ‘My Culture, My Pride’. Class IX students of both schools were asked to come to the school in their traditional attire. The students were divided into five groups. Each group was comprised of mixed students from both schools and they were given a different name (like Godavari, Sunakhari, Sayapatri, Gulaab, Makhamali). Firstly, each group were given Nepali letters (Vyanjan Varna and Swar Varna) written on small chits. Each group were asked to frame as many words out of given letters and paste it in the chart paper supplied to them within a given time. Secondly, the groups were asked to write essay on one of the festivals within a stipulated time.
